CANADIANS WHO buy Nissan's 1989 model Maxima ¢x-
ecutive sports-sedan will be the first to enjoy a new program

of cost-free car care.

“Essentially, Maxima owners
will only need to buy the gus, the
insurance and the Heence plates,
and bring their cars in for sched-
uled service,’’ says Yves Boyer,
vice president. Sales and Market-
ing far Nissan Automobile Com-
pany (Canada) Ld.

“Routine off, filter and spark-
plug changes and other regular
maintenance, plus ceplacement of
wear-and-tear items will all be free
of charge for the first three years
of ownership.”

Maxima is disabled overnight, the
owner Will be cntitted ta the loan
of a Nissan courtesy car.”

The new program, ‘‘Maxima
Extra Care’, covers ali of Nissan's
new 1989-model Masinus which
go on sale in Cunada in October.
Vires are the only item not covered
by the program. They carry their
own inanufacturer’s warranty,

The flagship of the Nissan
range, Maxima is a totally new
design and is the biggest and

ported to North America. It was,

in fact, designed to be sold mainly
on this continent, not in Japan.

The ‘Maxima Extra Care’’ pro-
pram supplements Nissan's existing
warranty program, already one of
the best in the industry.

The standard warranty offers
full 36-month/60,000-kilometre
coverage on all IWissan cars and
trocks. Ji complements a further
72-month/t00,000 powertrain

warranty — the longest no-dedue-
tible, no-fee coverage in the in-
dustry.

“We call this the longest ‘no
hassle’ warranty in the tidusery,"
Boyer says. “What that means is
that, unlike some of our corm.
petitors’ warranties, Nissan's con-

hidden deductible charges, no

At the parts counter, meantime,
Nissan also recently upsraded its
warranty oon replacement parts
from 90 days and 6,000 kilometres
to 12 months and 20,000
kilometres.
