The Mothers’ March began in the 1950s, when con- cerned Kinsmen and Kinettes held a one-hour Porch Light Blitz to raise money for those disabled during the polio epidemic: in B.C. That concern for their neighbors led Kinsmen to found the Kinsmen Rehabilitation Foundation, which last year provided assistance to over 5,000 people in the province. To maintain the level of service provided by the Kinsmen Rehabilitation Foundation, this year’s march must yield $1.5 million. ; Local residents who can donate their time to cail on approximately 20 homes in their neighborhood are asked to call the North Shore Kinsmen Mothers’ March office at 984-8941 or 984-8752.
