DAPHNE TRIVETT’S first
one-man show of quilts is on
view in the West Vancouver
Memorial Library until Oc-
tober Ist.

Nine of the 60 quilts Ms.
Trivett has made are shown.
They are from her private
collection.

Half of these quilts are
“‘utility’’ quilts and the rest
are wall hangings. All are
machine pieced and quilted
by hand. A variety of styles,

demonstrated including curv-
ed seams, strip patching,
mandala designs and batik
work. Only one is for sale.
Ms. Trivett has been
quilting since 1962, lives in
West Vancouver and _ is
presently working full-time
on a project dealing with
*‘scraps’’ of many kinds. The
project, called the Imagina-
tion Market, gathers
‘*waste’’ materials from in-
dustry and businesses and
sells them for use in art, craft

and techniques are and play.
