Import auto sales ‘torrid’

TORONTO (UPC) -
Imported car sates in Canada
continued to set a_ torrid
pace in July with total sales
to the end of that month of

151,617, compared with
99,381 to the same date last
year, the Automobile Im-
porters of Canada reported
Wednesday.

Import sales in July were
23,201, up more than 6,000
from 17,123 in July 1980.

Toyota had the largest
monthly increase with 5,711
cars sold last month com-
pared with 3,900 in the same

month a year ago. In 1981,
Toyota has sold 37,886 cars .

so far, compared with 23,269
in the same period.

Honda sales in July 1981 of

6,355 were up by 1,679 from
