built for Peter Larson, a well-known North Vancouver
businessman, and his wife Gerda.

It is a fine example of a late
Craftsman-style bungalow design-
ed by well-known North Van-
couver architects Blackadder’ and
Mackay.

The Craftsman features set off

as heavy: scrolled timber roof
brackets, heavy timber square
porch columns, half-timbering in

DECORATING DEN will present
an interior decorating seminar on
Saturday, May 15 from 10 a.m. to
4 p.m. at the Holiday Inn
Metrotown,. with net proceeds
from ticket sales going to the B.C.
Children’s Hospital Miracle Net-
work Telethon.

The day will start with brunch
and a fabric fashion show,
followed by a seminar which will
include such topics as personal
style, space planning, accessoriz-
ing with confidence, winning win-
dows, and more.

Tickets are $55 per person;
seating is limited to 120 people.

ment.

Mature hollies, cedars and
rhododendrons abound, and it is
in close proximity to other signifi-
cant heritage homes.

Peter Larson's home was within
easy walking distance to one of
his two hotels, the Hotel North
Vancouver, which was located be-
tween Lonsdale and Chesterfield
on Esplanade.

He was also the owner of the
Canyon View Hotel and he had
extensive property holdings in
what is now Gleneagles in West
Vancouver.
