’ Missing woman finally found A WEST Vancouver woman who went missing in the Abbotsford area Aug. 26 has been located in Kelowna. The woman, 27-year-old Carolynn Hall, bad earlier been reported missing. Concern was expressed at the time that Hall, a diabetic, may have been without insulin. But a West Vancouver Police spokesman said that Hall had been involved in a minor car accident and was reunited with reta- tives earlier this week. Police step up speeder enforcement WEST VANCOUVER Police are focusing more attention on speeders. The department is participating in the province-wide 1990 speeding campaign, whose goal is to reduce the number of traffic accidents, injuries and fatalities caused by driving at unsafe speeds. The West Vancouver Police traffic department will be sup- plemented with assistance from its patrol section to increase speeding enforcement between now and Sept. 7. Wher children return to classes Sept. 4, police will be increasing enforcement in school zones and in areas around schools. WV man faces mischief charges A_ 40-YEAR-OLD West Vancouver man faces two charges of mischief after two cars parked in the 2500-block of Kings Avenue were damaged. West Vancouver Police Cp!. Barry Nickerson and police dog Razz were calied to the scene on Aug. 25 at 8:40 a.m. after a complainant reported seeing a man peering into a window of the complainant’s house. He confronted the man and the suspect ran off. Razz tracked the suspect for approximately six blocks before he was arrested. The two cars sustained approximately $700 worth of damage. Missed court date lands man in jail A 30-YEAR-OLD Vancouver man was sentenced Aug. 22 to 60 days in jail for failing to appear for an earlier court date. Appearing before Judge J.K. Shaw, Mohammed Nazasi was found guilty of failing to show up for a (trial on Jan. 25, 1989,in West Vancouver provincial court. The date for the trial was originally set on Jan. 5, 1989. Salmon net seized in W. Van TWO MEN have been charged under the Fisheries Act afters a West Vancouver Police Department constable recently caught two men fishing with a gillnet in the Capilano River. A West Vancouver Police Department spokesman said Const. Rick Grindrod apprehended two men gillnet fishing Aug. 21 at 11:30 p.m. Fisheries officers were called in and authorities seized a net and five coho salmon.
