from the Penthouse Pet

It’s a bit intimidating
talking to Penthouse
magazine's ‘Pet of the
Year.’

After all, she’s only 24
years old but is already as
skilled in talking to the
media as a politician three
times her age.

But .Cheryl Rixon, in
North Vancouver last week
on a world-wide publicity
tour for the popular men's
magazine, says she's been
dealing with the media for

the last nine years, ever
since she was a 15 year old
model in Perth, Australia.

That's casy to believe.

Answers to questions that
must have been asked
hundreds of times before,
come out automatically,
almost before the questions
are asked.

No, she didn't mind posing
in the nude for Penthouse: “!
wouldn't have done it if I had
any‘qualms about it.”

No, the constant
touring(she’s doing two
other world tours later this
year) doesn’t bother her:
“It’s a lifestyle. It’s all part of
the entertainment business.

It's what I do for a living, so
it doesn't bother me. You get
used to it.”

Yes, she wants to return to
Australia some day: “It's my
home. I'm only in America
temporarily .”

Why then did she leave
Australia?

“There was nowhere
further to go,” she sighs. “I
had reached a plateau and if
I wanted to go further in my
career I had to come to
America. | was getting bored
in Australia

How did she become a
Penthouse Pet?

“Il was modelling in New
York for Viva magazine,

which, you know, is also one
of Bob Guc-
cione’s."(Guccione is the
publisher of Penthouse)

“He saw the pictures and
asked if I wanted to be a
Penthouse Pet.”
