year’s resolutions list for 1990.

¢ Be a good consumer. We
should all resolve to protect our
own interests by becoming
thoroughly informed before we
purchase goods or services, to
make sure that they are really what
we want. When we have purchas-
ed, keep the bills in case of future
problems. Be reasonable and
honest when we deal with mer-
chants and tradespeople and expect
the same treatirent in return.

dents with their income tax
returns.

numbers, their will, also who is
their executor, what preferences
they might have about funeral ar-
tangements, who is their accoun-
tant, doctor, dentist — in fact,
anything that their nearest and
dearest would need to know in the
event of absence, accident or
death. This might even include in-
structions on where to turn off the
water mains or how to light the
furnace. .

© Get involved in the communi-
ty. Become more aware of the
community resources available on
the North Shore and take advan-
tage of the many opportunities
open to volunteers to become ac-
tive in the community. The North
Shore Information and Volunteer
Centre will be glad to help you in
both these areas.
