By JOANNE MacDONALD According to Ministry of Human Resources officials, CIP grants ceased March 30, 1984. As a result, all persons contributing voluntary community service each month would no longer be paid their monthly supple- ment by the government. However, a man working at the West Vancouver Co-Pro Centre, who prefers tO remain anonymous, in- sists he has already received his April cheque. The Centre’s coordinator, Barbara Davies told the North Shore News the man received his cheque through the mail even before she had a. chance to submit the workers’ hours to the local Ministry of Human Resources Office. The majority of persons receiving the CIP grant through the Co-Pro Centre in North and West Van- couver are handicapped pensioners. Nineteen other workers have not yet received their cheques, but Davies said one woman has been told by various Ministry employees that her cheque will be issued in the near future.
