WINDSOR 17 — VERNON 12 Despite a seemingly close game, Windsor held a 17-0 lead with a little over six minutes to play. Vernon scored nwo majors in that time, giving Jay Prepchuk’s squad a bit of a scare. “I think we just started looking past them,” Prepchuk said. If that indeed was the case, what Prepchuk’s team saw was a familiar sight: Joe Bell’s Handsworth Royals. In their only meeting this season, the Dukes blanked the Royals 12-0, but according to Prepchuk that early season result won't mean much come Saturday at B.C. (The Dukes beat Handsworth in last year’s semi-final). Should be a dandy. SENTINEL 26 - HUGH BOYD 0 Despite shutting out Hugh Boyd, the Spartans were in tough against the Trojans Saturday afternoon. “The final score was not indicative of Hugh Boyd's play at all,” said Sentinel coach Dave Ruzyiki. “At one point, if we hadn't made adjustments, the game could have gone either way.” Ruzyiki said his team’s goal from the beginning of the season was to get to the semis, and now that they’re there he says they are totally focused on Seaquam. “They have some really talented players; they have a great quarterback and some very good receivers,” the Spartan coach said. “And whenever you get that. combination in B.C. Place anything can happen.”
