Emergency preparedness discussed AN emergency preparedness meeting has been scheduled for Wednesday, May 16 at Plymouth Elementary School, 919 Tollcross in North Vancouver. The North and West Vancouver Emergency Program (NWVEP) will host the discussion, scheduled to kick off at 7:30 p.m, that will address such topics as the District of North Vancouver Emergency Plan, resident and homeowner safety, school emergency plans and lessons frora San Francisco. Ross Peterson, NWVEP coor- dinator, and representatives from the North Vancouver District Fire Department, North Vancouver RCMP, North Vancouver District social planning, the B.C. Am- bulance Service and the North Vancouver School District will all take part in the public discussion. Peterson was among the first B.C. residents to visit the San Francisco earthquake sites and will be delivering a slide presentation at Wednesday’s meeting. Part of the NWVEP’s public education program, the meeting is one of several similar neighborhood events planned for the North Shore this year.
