On Dec. 12, 40 cities across North America, including North Vancouver, will be linked by the combined effort of thousands of people simultaneously contributing to community projects sponsored by the Sterling Community Service Foundation, Hundreds will be volunteering their time in Canada for projects in Toronto, Victoria and Van- couver, In| March, approximately 200 people, organized by the founda- tion, repaired and repainted the North Shore Neighbourhood House. It was the organization’s first North Shore project and also marked International Community Service Day. The foundation is set to do it again on Saturday. But this time the beneficiaries of the effort will be the 25 mentally handicapped people living in the North Shore Association for the Mentally Handicapped’s Pierard House and Lynn Valley House group homes. As well as the North Vancouver project, the orgrnization will have over 100 people renovating and repairing 11 buildings at Camp Alexandra in Crescent Beach on Saturday.
