THREE WORLD dance premieres
by three internationally acclaimed
choreographers will be performed
by the Anna Wyman Dance
Theatre April 30 to May 2 at the
Vancouver Playhouse. .

Reid Anderson and Tsutumo Ben
‘Tida are busy creating works to
compiement Wyman’s own latest |
dance creation. Traditionally, the '
company’s’artistic excellence has
been won through the creations of
Anna Wyman herself.

‘Producing. works by other ar-
tists is a total departure for us, but
in breaking new ground, we are. :
lighting’ new creative, fires,’’ said
group artistic director Wyman. ‘I
am very pleased to be working
with two such powerful forces in
the world of dance,’’. :

Anderson has received critical
acclaim for his work with the Stut-
tgart Ballet and‘ has- partnered:
world-famous ‘ballerinas Karen
Kain, Marcia Haydee and Natalia
Markarova. ‘

In recent years, Anderson’s in-
terests have turned to
choreography and teaching and he
re-staged. and produced John
Cranko’s ballet Onegin for the Na-
tional Ballet of Canada. :

lida studied professional theatre
at the age of 12 and began to
dance professionally at 18. He
toured extensively throughout
Japan while working with the
Tokyo City Ballet and Matsuyama
Ballet. .

‘It was under his artistic direction
that the Swiss Dance Theatre in-
troduced their unique and power-
ful theatrics to Expo 86 audiences
last summer. :
