The club niade.a $5-milli public. commitment towards the project ‘three years ago, and before. the 1979 Telethon, $3:2-niillion had beensset aside. The latest Telethon will send. the trust account to over $4-million. The BCTV Telethon provides most of the funds for the new hospital, which is. presently under con- struction in the Shaughnessy Hospital complex in Van- couver. The Vancouver Sun conducted a Christmas campaign in 1977 to con- struct the Jack Wasserman _ Rehabilitation Centre within new Children’s and it was - successful in: raising over $180,000. Several other special rooms have been funded as part of the Télethon spectacular.
