N. Vancouver man killed in crash

Vancouver, died on Friday
after his car ended up in a
ditch in the 600-block of East
Braemar in North Vancouver.

Police say Leslie lost con-
trol of the 1993) Nissan
Maxima when he tried to
avoid hitting parked cars at
2:15 am. The Nissan ended

up ina ditch where a part of

the roof peeled off. Police say
Leslie wasn’t wearing a seat:
belt. He was thrown from the
car and was later pronounced
dead at Lions Gate Hospital.
A passenger in the car was
taken to hospital with minor
injuries. Police investigators
said Leslie and some friends
were at the Waterfront Bistro

at Lonsdale Quay before the
fatai crash. Police believe alco-
hol and excessive speed con-
tributed to the traffic death.
