inter fair hel A WINTER carnival in keeping with the best European tradition will come to a number of North Vancouver venues, including Grouse Mountain and local malls. In conjunction with the Molson World Giant Slalom at Grouse Mountain — where the world giant slalom champion for 1988 will be decided — organizers have put together a carnival with live enter- tainment, food items and adult refreshment. Running Feb, 27 and 28 at Lynn Valley Centre and Capilano Mall, the carnival will feature a variety of ethnic dancers from Bavaria, the Ukraine, Scotland and other countries, explained the carnival’s organizer, Bill Tombrink. “We expect a lot of people will come from Calgary from the Olympics (which end Feb. 28). The Capilano Lions Club and Jocal volunteers will sell food and drink; patrons will be treated to a variety of entertainment, including live music. “It's a happy time," Tombrink, a native of Germany, said of the event.
