Changing the image

The better looking one in the office doesn’t like
sport because she doesn’t like the image portray-

ed by the athletes.

She doesn't go for the
toothless, sweaty jock who
mumblingly answers the trite

doesn’t go for the big macho
appearances and actions of
many of the pros

And why is that particular
sweaty jock image pushed?
Is at the best way to portray
the particular sport? Is it
because this is the way we in
the media perceive all pro-
fessional athletes? And have
we, perhaps, created a false
image which some feel they
have to live up to?

Goofy’s revenge

In Industral soccer league
action last Sunday, Goofy's

‘place downéd North Shore
News 5-0 to take the top spot
with eight wins and only
three losses.

Both teams played well in
the first half separated only
by a well placed penalty
kick. But it was the memory
of Goofy’s 5-1 loss to the
News early in the season that
spurred them on.

The News is in second
place with a 7-3-1 record. In
other games that day
Scandicraft lost out on a
chance to share’ second
place with their non-scoring
tie with Pegasus Old Boys.
