An all new ice spectacular
‘Karen and Friends’ will
bring together some of the
world’s finest figure skaters
on Saturday, October 13, at
the Pacific Coliseum,
starring world champion and
Olympic silver medallist
Karen Magnussen and the
free skating stylist, Toller
Cranston.

bring Karen and Toller
together again for the first
time since 1973, when Karen
came home from winning
the world championship.

A treat for skating fans will
be the appearance for the
first time in Vancouver of
Priscilla Hill, Karen’s own
protege, the 1977 winner of
the coveted Richmond

trophy in London, England.

‘Karen and Friends’ will
feature full scale production
numbers with pairs, dance
and solo skaters. A special
feature will be the ‘Tribute
to the Year of the Child’
when Karen will skate with
100 six to cight year old
skaters.

Producing the show is
Bruce Patenaude, with
direction by Linda
Brauckmann, choreography
by Richard Gilbert, and
special choreography by
Jamie Zagoudakis. Sound
and lighting by John Beatty.
Master of ceremonies will be
broadcast personality Rick
Honey.

Tickets $6, $5, and $4, are
available at the Vancouver
Ticket Centre and all Eaton's
Stores. Proceeds from
‘Karen and Friends’ will go
to the Karen Magnussen
Foundation, a fund set up to
help young B.C. Skaters.
