Francis sees pen computers as the «ext computing revolution. Pen computers do away with the . keyboard and aliow the user to create and manipulate information with a pen and screen. Some industry watchers antici- pate that portable pen computer sales will reach over three million units three years from now. On Apri! 16, Francis announced in San Francisco the release of its Numero financial software package. The software is designed to run with PenPoint, an operating ‘system developed by GO Corp. ‘IBM, NCR,:GRiD and Samsung are in the market with pen-based computers operating with Pen- Michael Becker HIGH TECH Point. Numero, which ships to cus- tomers in June, provides a paper-like electronic work en- vironment. Numero ‘‘work paper’? may in- may write, highlight and erase di- rectly on the screen. The software requires about 500 K of RAM and runs on any 386- based pen computer using Pen- Point. Francis coupled the announce- ment of the company's software release with an offering of a train- ing and support program.
