AirCare urging otorists to act now Go early before insurance expires, no appointment 1s necessary for inspection MOST PASSENGER cars, light trucks and motor homes in the Lower Mainland must pass an annual AirCare emis- ‘sions inspection before an Autoplan broker can proceed with licensing and insurance requirements. And AirCare officials are urging those motorists whose vehicle insurance expires this month and next to make their way to an AirCare inspection station now. Look for the notification “AirCare inspection required” on your Autoplan renewal document. If your vehicle licence and insur- ance renewal deadline is next month, go carly so you have time to meet your AirCare requirements (should any apply to you) before your insurance expires. The inspection will determine whether your vehicle is well-tuned and that the emission control com- ponents required at the time of manufacture have not been removed, disabled or altered. Failed vehicles must be repaired and returned to any official AirCare Inspection Centre for reinspection. Look for repair facilities displaying the AirCare Repair Centre sign. These facilities have been certi- fied by the province as having the equipment and training necessary to do the job right ... the first time. All cars, motor homes and light trucks (5,000 kilogram GVW and under) will be inspected at AirCare stations. This includes vehicles using gasoline, diesel fuel, propane, and natural gas.
