B.C. spean about career
opportunities and technologi-

More than 2,500 visitors
tock in the exhibit and awards
totaling, almost $10,000 were

presented to Vancouver: area
high schools for the best pre-
sentations in biotechnology.

Student groups worked tor
months in selected laborato-
ries and classrooms through-

out Greater Vancauver on
projects thar included: every-
thing from the potential of uti-
lizing spider silk for industrial
purposes to bacteria reducing
the toxicity of industrial waste.

Students experienced the
joy of biotechnology and
research using a “real world”
research model.
