TAKING care of a pet
is a valuable lesson in
responsibility for chil-
dren.

Bur whar -if thar per
weighed in at two tons, was
1? feet tali and about 30 feet
long?

Like, for
Stegosaurus.

Just imagine the expense
of feeding it, and the effort
required to clean up after it!

That’s exactly what kids
{of all ages) are required to
do at Science World’s newest
exhibit: Jurassic Ark Pet
Store.

The exhibit is set in the
not-so-distant future where
cloned dinosaurs are a reality
and have become the latest

evample, a

_ pet craze,

la order to qualify for a
“Ding Care Card,” visitors to
the exhibir must figure out
what kind and how much
food the dinosaur of their
choice would require, how
big it would get, what kind of
toys and blanket it would
need ‘and how much poop it
would make.

Clues are provided on the
kennel of cach life-size and
half-size robotic beast.

. The models were created
by Dinamation, a company
which works with renowned
paleontologists to ensure that
all possible details are correct.

As well as the Stegosaurus,
the prehistoric pets on display
include an Amargasaurus, a
Deinonychus, a Dilopho-
saurus, a Parasaurolpphus, a
Preradon, a Triceratops, and a
Tyrannosaurus. ;

The inceractive exhibit is a
great way for children and
adults ro learn about the biol-
ogy and ecology of these
extinct animals — it also hits a
few humorous notes including
tips on how to train
