Brewing the multicult stew ONE GETS some satisfaction out of being right occa- sionally, especially with regard to our nation-rotting im- migration policies. Consider the news from Rich- mond and Surrey, where Bast In- dians and Chinese are out to cap- ture the federal Liberal parties. It’s a plain matier of voting by race and campaigning by race. Thousands of ethnics have been signed up by other ethnics for ex- ecutive seats and the nomination battles. If whites did that the media _ rafters would ring with scandal. White supremacy! KKK! Fascism! Racism! An East Indian called Dhaliwal waxes poetic about the process. He is an aspiring federal candidate in Richmond and has stated: “] would say it (Richmond) is a garden of multicultural people.’’ Dhaliwal says the contest is not an ethnic one. Of course not. That’s why busloads of East Indians were driven in to get their ballots. Dhaliwal and Co. sound happy. But some stunned whites are talk- ing about the party being hijack- ed. . Len Plater and Lucy Kadian were once on the local Liberal ex- ecutive but have been dropped in favor of a Dhaliwal slate. Virginia Barteluk is also sobb- ing. She was nominated two years ago in Surrey North and now looks like being de-nominated in favor of ar, Bast Indian. It serves afl those losers bloody well right. It serves them right because it was their Liberal party that began brewing this multicult stew in 1967. it serves them right because they have all either pandered to Ottawa’s immigration policies or been silent for fear of being called “‘racist.”” Kadian says she’s so disillusion- ed she might switch parties. She’s considering joining the Reform party. Pardon me while I augh. The Reform party may be painted as racist by its opponents, but Preston Manning grovels to ethnic groups and constantly denounces the evils of “racism.” I have news for Ms. Kadian. If she talks too much about im- migration she won't get past Manning’s fail-safe screening process. And has she forgotten what he did in West Vancouver- Capilano in 19887 He had a chance to grasp the nettle but funked it. . Let’s face it. Thanks to the pol- itioians of all parties and to the media, we are well on the way to having the whole of English Canada hijacked, let alone Rich- mond and Surrey. (Quebec may survive, being a ‘‘distinct socie- ty,’’ which is another, acceptable way of being ‘‘racist.’’) Some countries resist invasion, if necessary by armed force. Doug Collins ON THE OTHER HAND Not Wimpland. Our motto is **We surrender.”’ A recent academic study shows that in nine years’ time there will be nearly six million visible minorities in Canada, an increase of 350% since 1986. Metro Toronto will have 2.11 million, Vancouver 830,000. Richmond, Surrey and the North Shore will have similar increases. They will all be howling for special treatment, of course, and getting it from noodienecks like David Schreck and Jeremy Dalton. The process won't stop in nine years. It is self-gencrating and endless. The immigrants will vote by race while whites are told to behave themselves. Anyone who resists will risk fines and jail and be described as ‘‘swarming vipers’’ in the Vancouver Sun, Which reminds me. He stated that skills will be a big factor in deciding who shall come in, as distinct from the fam- ily reunification and refugees classifications that account for most of the present influx. That's for the gullible. Exactly the same thing was said when ‘universal immigration’’ was first introduced 25 years ago. Since then, every ‘‘reform’’ has made things worse. (In Ottawa parlance, by the way, ‘‘skilled”’ is code for ‘‘white.’’) The target of 250,000 im- migrants a year set up by Barbara McDougall remains. That's because she, Mary Collins, Chuck Cook and all the other politicians are only too happy to hand this country over in exchange for a discernible immigrant vote. It remains, too, in spite of high unemployment and the recession, the fiction being that immigration from anywhere spells prosperity. We are nothing if not stupid. My apologies if I say I told you so. But I told you so as far back as the 1970s in the book Immigra- tion, The Destruction Of English Canada. | even told you about the coming voting-by-race phenome- non. What’s happening in Surrey and Richmond is just the beginning. Have a nice day. By Maureen Curtis Contributing Writer At West Vancouver District Council's July 20 meeting, ar- chitect Chris Bosyk assuaged council and public concerns raised over the project. The concerns included the building’s east side, which Bosyk showed in greater detail in his drawings, and a. 13- foot-wide, 18-foot-high plane of glass that stands at the front of the terraced building. Bosyk said he took to heart Coun. Diana Hutchinson's questions about the future views along the street of the ‘“‘wall of glass’? and the possibilities ‘of its creating a distracting reflection. “This wall is not reflective. It is made out of very trans- parent material. It will be floating, lively. You will see people moving up and down the stairs,’ said Bosyk. Coun. Pat Boname asked if alternative, designs had been ‘EY OTIS WEST VANCOUVER DISTRICT COUNCIL considered for the site. Ward McAllister, repre- senting the developers, said that several alternatives had been looked at over a four- moath design period. The proposed design has also been criticized for not fitting into Ambleside’s village char- acter. “‘We took pictures of the Ambleside area, but it was very difficult to determine what this village theme was,'’ said McAllister. The building’s design is more in line with the recently con- structed Walker Building in West Vancouver. Council voted unanimously to approve Bosyk’s design. Coun. Andy Danyliu added that the new building will benefit the community, because it affords ‘“‘more accessibility and livability in terms of ac- cess.” Coun. Don Griffiths said he wouldn't like to see the Walker building become a design standard, and Hutchinson add- ed that guidelines should be determined that would help maintain the village atmosphere.
