plus of $496,290 in. the fiscal
year 1994-1995 to its accumu-
fated surplus.

is a result of revenue generation.

The district collects over $1.5 mil-
lion in foreign student fees annually.
That and other sources of revenue
have contributed to the school board's
accumulated surplus of $1,080,937.
Of that amount, $519,287 will be
held in reserve.

The remainder, $561,650, will be
allocated to the classroom and
includes:
$100,000 to help schools resolve

class size cancerns:

BB $200,000 to extend computer access
to al teachers, through the purchase
of laptop. or portable, computers;

8 $100,000 for school-based tech-
nology plans:

$20,000 for stall training in tech-
nology:

BS 10.000 for curricular leadership:
FA $70,000 will supplement funds
required for the conversion of West
Vancouver senior secondary to a full
secondary. school, the closing of
Hillside. the opening of the new mid-
dle school on Caulfeild Plaican.
$5,500 to “help narrow the gap”
between the indemnities paid to
District 45 trustees and those paid to
trustees in other B.C. school districts.
West Vin trustees are currently paid
$8,500 a year. ‘The figure increases to
$9,500 a year.
