The owner of Jeffersports Custom Golf Equipment at 1577 Pemberton in North - Vancouver since 1993, Jeffers learned his trade by working with his father in a chain of fan family. vowned: sports specialty shops in e U. His M ther Travers, now 80, still runs the Jeffersports flagship store in Bandon, County Cork, Ireland. Besides specializing in golf clubs and equipment, Travers also strings all the rackets for the Irish national squash, badminton, tennis and racquetball teams. Jeffers has applied all he learned over- seas to his Pemberton store, where he spe- cializes in custom-designing and building golf clubs for the discerning duffer. There are a series of measurements to take before Jeffers can outfit any golfer ~ with their ideal set of clubs: swing speed, to dictate the flex of the shaft; height of the golfer, which determines length of shaft; the height plus their fingertip-to-floor measurement for the correct “lie angle” for each iron; and finally, middle finger fength to determine the size of the club grip And you thought golf wasn’t an exact science, The store will also evaluate existing sets vers and irons.
