By NOEL WRIGHT Two identical twins whose careers have followed very different paths for the last 25 years come together next week in West Vancouver to examine one of the most per- plexing riddles that confront thinking people in today’s world the interplay of science and religion. Dr. Maurice Kimmitt is chief research officer in the department of physics at the University of Essex. England. His look-alike twin (you can hardly distinguish them apart) is Rev. Desmond Kimmitt, rector of St. Christopher’s Anglican Church, West Vancouver. Their presentation of the science-religion probicm will be spread over three evenings, starting on cach occasion at 8 p.m. im St. Christopher's Pansh Hall, Priest-physicist twins examine science vs. religion lith and Inglewood, West Van. Next Tuesday, October 21, the theme is “Touching on hope ... ” introduced by Rev. Kimmitt with his scientist brother responding. On Thursday, October 23, the roles are reversed, with Dr. Kimmitt exploring “The responsibility of invention” and Rev. Kimmitt responding. The series winds up Tuesday, October 28, with a discussion between the two brothers on “Decisions for the future”. “Fhe idea for the talks,” says Rev. Kimmitt, “arose from two things. Virtually all Rev. Desmond Kimaiutt's ministry has been served in British Columbia, for the past eight years as rector of St. Christopher's. He graduated at Trinity in modern literature and continues to lecture and write on aspects of literature. He has been a _ board member of the Vancouver Playhouse Theatre Centre as well as playmg an active role in provincial politics and as a commissioner of the B.C. Racing Commission.
