In 1977, it was 13.8 per cent, Prince Edward Island and the Yukon posted bigger gains for 1978—15 and 7.2 per cent respectively, but their numbers of visitors were small—461 and 138,424 respectively. Nova Scotia recorded a 3.6 per cent hike, Quebec had a 1.4 per cent boost, while Ontario and Alberta ‘nudged upwards by 0.9 per cent.. Manitoba, Saskatchewan, New Brunswick and New- foundland were down by 14.4 per cent, 8.3 per cent, 4.9 per cent and 0.7 per cent respectively.
