Roberts, out of Pan-Am College in Texas, beat Lions Gate tennis pro lan Brady in the finals of the tournament in two sets. Roberts now has 185 Grand Prix points, 35 more than his closest rival, Bob Bardsley, with 150. Brady is in 3rd place with office tucked 140 points. Roberts continued his winning ways in the mens’ doubles. He and partner Arnold Kettenacker won the event in three Sets. The next action in the Grand Prix circuit place August 6 in Stanley Park. Organizers say it will be the biggest torunament anywhere. Bernie Willock of Victoria won the sixth annual Molson Garibaldi 2-day bicycle race weekend, defeating Hugh Hardin, Saturday's rain and Mount Garibaldi itself. The race started in the rain from Park Royal Shopping Centre in West Vancouver at noon, Saturday. The first leg of the event took the cyclists along the coast of Howe Sound into the mountains and to Wimbiedon Mount Garibaldi. The second stage began the next day from the mountain, through Pem- berton to Whistler. Hardin and Willock were tied with identical times going into the second stage, but Willock managed to pull ahead to win the event in a total time of 6 hours, 14 minutes. and 22 seconds for the 247 kilometre race. _ ‘Bruce Nicholls of West Vancouver won the “B” competition in a time of 6 by Nike.
