Senior award nominees sought NOAHNATIONS FOR the [991 British Cetumbia Senior Award are being accepted until Sept, 9. The award is co-sponsored by the Hongkong Bank of Canada and by its founder, Brock House Society. Comprised of the Brock House Society Medal and a $10,000 tax- free grant from the Hongkong Bank of Canada, this veur’s award will be given to a Canadian citizen who is 65 or older, a B.C. resident and, in the judgement of a selection committee, has a dem- onstrated record of voluntary communily service. “IVs purpose is to create gteater public awareness of the important contributions senior cit- izens are making to our society. to recognize their accomplishments and record them in history of our province,’ said Jack Reynolds, president of Brock House Society. All seniors from across the pro- Vince are encouraged to par- ticipate. The recipient of the 1991 award will be chosen by an eight-member selection committee whose deci- sien is final. Reynolds said the selection committee is not associated with the Brock House Society. The successful nominee will be announced on Oct. 7 and honored at a special presentation dinner Now, 7.
