THE 1989 Summer Tour Program
has begun in the Greater Van-
couver Regional District's
Seymour Demonstration Forest in
North Vancouver.

On selected Sundays throughout
the summer registered professional
foresters from the Canadian In-
stitute of Forestry and other repre-
sentatives from the forest industry
will guide visitors through the
forest’s new interpretive loop trail.

The informa! one-hour walks,
which feature information about
integrated resource management,
leave the parking lot at 12 noon
and 2 p.m. on the following Sun-
days: June 18, July 2, 9, 16 and
30, Aug. 13, 20 and 27 and Sept.
3. They go ahead regardless of the
weather. .

Groups or individuals can ar-
range for private tours during the
week by calling the Demonstration
Forest at 432-6286.

The Seymour Demonstration
Forest is a 5,600-hectare working
forest nestled between Mount
Seymour Provincial Park and
Lynn Headwaters Regional Park.

It is open year round seven days
a week from dawn to dusk. The
many walking and hiking trails
that traverse this forest provide a
natural outdoor classroom for all
visitors.

Cycling to Seymour Dam, a
unique opportunity for cycling en-
thusiasts, is permitted on weekends
only.

The Demonstration Forest is on-
ly a 20 minute drive from
downtown Vancouver or Co-
quitlam. .

From the Second Narrows
Bridge, or West or North Van-
couver, take the Lillooet Road exit
from Upper Levels Highway. Head
north on Lillooet Road, past
Capilano College and along the
gravel road to the Seymour
Demonstration Forest entrance
and parking lot.
