AN ADOPTION forum sponsored by Capilano Col- lege this month will deal with a wide range of adop- tion issues from both the legal) and psychological points of view. To be held Saturday, November 23 at the Interna- tional Plaza Hotel, the forum should be of par- ticular interest to birth parents, adoptive parents, adoptees, anyone consider- ing adoption and anyone in- volved in providing assistance to adoptive fami- lies. The forum will consist of three panel discussions, with the first focussing on adop- tion Jaw in B.C. and other provinces, and international adoption. A second panel on key issues of adoption will be moderated by Dr. Alister Browne, Capilano College philosophy instructor, and topics under discussion will include ethics, open records versus confidentiality, anda discussion of Rosemary Brown’s Private Member's Bill to amend the Adoption Act. Finally, the afternoon will be devoted to a discussion of the emotional impact of adoption from the point of view of birth mothers, adoptees and adoptive parents. Shoppers and visitors are needed for many seniors in a similar situation where a couple of hours a week would make life more en- joyable. : Skilled Time Keeper for a handicapped swim meet event being held December 1 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Reader to record English class instructions on a cassette for a teenage boy. Program Aides for after- school -activities, run by an international organization in two North Van schools. Ac- tivities include gym, indoor soccer, drama, floor hockey, cooking, arts/crafts, etc. Candy Striper Supervisor needed to organize and co- ordinate the program and supervise the teens.
