Council’s engineering department looked into the dust problem and concluded: “Prime Place does not have any special problem with respect to dirt on the pave- ment and all of the homes are now fully constructed and occupied. Dust from traffic, either residents or visitors, should not. be a problem even during dry summer. weather.” Joe Sinner ‘submitted complaints for Monday’s meeting in a letter to coun- cil, outlining his reasons for opposing the preschool. He pointed out there are already two preschools in the area: the Chalet Preschool, ‘4% blocks from the propos- ed location; and the Upper Lynn Elementary preschool, just two blocks away and filled to less than 50 per cent. Ald. Joan Gadsby voted for the application but said the potential for traffic pro- blems caused her some con- cern. Gadsby noted that neighbors on both sides of the Findlay residence had agreed to provide parking for parents dropping off and picking up their children at the preschool, wut she noted that all four residents at the entrance to the Prime Place cul-de-sac opposed the ap- plication. Ald. Ernie Crist said he was voting reluctantly in favor of the application. Crist reported he had visited the area and talked to neighbors opposing the ap- plication and although they had a good point, Crist said he was assured by the Findlays only one session of the preschool would be held per day. The session begins at 9:15 a.m. and only about half of the students would be driven. Crist noted the start of the session was at a time most adults would be at work.
