CPR aims for one in five

THE NORTH Shore Family
YMCA will start a program
Monday with an ambitious
goal — to have one in every
five residents trained and
teady to go to work if heart
attack strikes,

The North Shore Y is par-

ticipating in the mass CPR
training week, which starts
Monday and runs through to

March 2, an event co-spon-
sored by the Y, the Pulse of
Life Society and the B.C.
Heart Foundation.

The event consists of two
parts ~—- one aired over the
Knowledge Network televi-
sion station Monday night
and the other a series of ses-
sions on the practice of CPR
at North Shore Y and other

locations.

Registration fee is a mere
$10.

The theory of CPR will be
outlined in a special hour
and a half television show on
the Knowledge Network —:

at 7:30 p.m. Monday.

That will be followed by
sessions throughout the week
