Thornley’s wife, Margaret, 78, was a victim of the con man on Sept, 3, as she tay in her pal- liative care bed. Thornley said a man entered his wife’s room and said he had to fix a sticky cupboard door. The cupboard contained Margarci's purse. He lett and a little while later, Margaret received a call from the phone beside her bed. The cailer said he was with the Royal Bank and that the bank’s computer sys tem had crashed.
