A newly established the-
atre arts award stands
legacy to two former Deep
Cove residents.

The John Moffat) and
Larry Lillo Award was con-
ceived by friends and family

~ of John Moffat. The applica-
tion deactine for the award
is May 16, the anniversary
of Moffat’s death.

Moffat died in (995 of
complications from AIDS.
Lillo, bis longtime partner,
died in 1993.

Both were well-recog-
nized in the Canadian the-
atre community: Lillo as
artistic director of the
Vancouver Playhouse
Theatre and the Grand
Theatre in London, Ontario;
and Moffat as an award-win-
Ning actor in Vanesuver,
Toronto and = Stratford
Festival theatre productions.

The $1,000 cash award is
to be presented annually to a
