Our main dishes were an even-
ing’s special New York Steak and
Prawns ($9.95) and Rack of Lamb
Capilano ($18.95).

The special was good value. It
included a seven-ounce steak
presented medium-rare and top-
ped with three prawns.

The rack, a half-dozen’succulent
chops, again medium-rare, was
finished in a simple red wine and
mint marinade and suffused with
Dijon mustard. :

Vegetable accompaniment for
both entrees was a combination of
roasted russet potatoes, broiled
red pepper, steamed broccoli and
zucchini, and an elegant carrot
boutonniere.

All very satisfying, especial
when consumed before a brilliant
winter backdrop. “oe

Dessert was a simple Creme
Caramel ($3.50), a bracing snifter
of Calvados ($5.50) and, from the
personable Bridge House maitre
d’, the latest tale of the wayward
ghost that is said to reside in the
Bridge House.
