THE FOLLOWING people ap-
peared in North and West Van-
couver provincial courts recently
to face a variety of charges:

Before Judge R.D. Grandison in
North Vancouver provincial court
on Oct. 3:

Andre Fiynn, 41, of North
Vancouver, was given a condi-
tional discharge and placed on
probation for one month after he
was found guilty of stealing an
ashtray on Feb. 16.

Steven Paul Holm, 29, of Van-
couver, was jailed for seven days
and placed on probation for one
year after he was found being at
large on a recognizance on Sept.
21 which was given before a judge

WEST VANCOUVER-Capilano NDP candidate Helen
Chaplin said in a News story Friday that a lot of people
have told her to leave Lions Gate Bridge congested to
preserve the insularity of the North Shore. Chaplin said
she has travelled the Lions Gate Bridge every day for 24
years and she has no solutions for the congestion prob-

nice if it had another
lane. i realize it is a very
old bridge, but I believe
it is safe.

candidates’ suggestions included: building a new bridge,
adding lanes to Second Narrows Bridge, building 4 third
crossing which won’t go directly into downtown and
building a Burrard Inlet tunnel. A Libertarian candidate
suggested charging a toll to use the bridge.
