VALDY, the B.C. folksinger who manages to appeal to all tastes, came to North
Vancouver Thursday to give a show of homey music in a truly contrived situation at
Centennial Theatre. The concert turned out to be an exercise in crowd control as
BCTV camera crews filmed the show for First Choice Pay TV, spending almost an
hour arranging the free seating of the audience to create an Mlusion of a full-house,
while whipping up the crowd into a frantic cheering at an empty stage for applause
scenes. But, as usual, Valdy gave a show which was worth the wait - and the hype.
