It had been shot. This lone creature had been seen occasionally up and down these shores seeking food. But I presume a devout sportsman, bent on TAGG needed time to register Dear Editor: I, having read the com- ments on The Taxpayers Association for Government by Chris Lloyd who little about societies in general. In order for a society to be a Good obviously knows nothing about TAGG and legally catching fish for himself, found the competition too great and so did the creature in. Surely a lone seal has as much right to a fish as a human being who is only fishing for sport? That man was no sportsman. To the impartial reader, it is ap- parent that your newspaper is warning the electorate of Right NOT to pray Dear Editor: To pray or not to pray — that is a freedom. Our new Minister of Education would like to lead us back in time, it seems, and again have the State led by the Church. Another basic freedom -- freedom of worship -- is threatened if the recitation of The Lord's Prayer is enforced in our schools. I respect the nght of those who wish to use this prayer and the nght of other religions to use their chosen prayers in ther homes or churches The mghts of those who choose not to pray should also be respected - whether the andividual be an atheist, who choosos to meditate, or one who prefers to do a spintual con- templative exercise to open oneself to Spirit one Carole Punt Nanaimo the dangers .of having .ex- tremists or radicals in municipal hall, regardless of which side of the political colour spectrum they represent. Some time ago you uncovered an organizing meeting of the Ku Klux Klan and wrote an expose dn that organisation. As far as we know, that unsavoury group has not returned to the North Shore thanks, in part at least, to the unwelcome publicity you gave to them. To quote William Lyon MacKenzie from a speech made in 1834, “Vote for no man whose conduct in private and public life is not above suspicion, and inquire with due diligence before you give your suffrages.” The local newspapers such as the North Shore News are a major factor in keeping the pubhc informed by good investigative reporting Keep up the good work Ermic Sarsfield North Vancouver DEAD SEAL at | Spanish Banks existence. Mr. Burbidge, President of NOVVA challenges TAGG to come out into the open, but Mr. Burbidge and his group took over an existing society and did not have to wait for the legalities to be completed. Chris Lloyd and the president of NOVVA and others should realize that a society must be registered and approved before it can legally exist and gain publicity. Chris Lloyd suggests that the belief in the right to own property and to enjoy the fruits of one’s labour is some rabid free enterprise belief. Any candidate regardless of party affiliation who came out against the right to own property would receive little support from the voters of THIS LOVELY Ute hall-grown,tame black rabbit needs to have a good home. TAGG believes the majority of taxpayers in North Vancouver do not want to see extreme positions adapted by their eciected representatives. if Chris Lloyd was more specific with his information he could be of great service to the taxpayers of North Vancouver by exposing the elements of the far right and the far left on specific issues, that he refers to.
