In the past flea control could only begin after the insects had reached the adult biting stage. And they can produce an entire new generation in 24 weeks. The new insecticide kills “methoprene - a youthful hormone” in flea pupae. It keeps the newborns from leaving their final larval stage and developing _into full-grown, biting in- sects, the manufacturer says. The product is also designed to control ticks, roaches, flies, spiders and flying moths. NICE, France (UPI) — A woman knocked off 17 pounds through a weight- loss treatment in which she was put in a hypnotic trance and did not eat for nearly 13 days, she said. Adrienne Cecchini, 37, of Montceau-Les-Hines, said she dropped from 136 pounds to 119 while in the trance from Aug. 16 until Saturday night. The weight-loss treatment was conducted by Jacky Nuguet, a_ self-described hypnotist who said he wanted to show that his method could be used safely. Cecchini, the mother of one boy, permitted Nuguet to hypnotize her Aug. 16 in a hotel in Nice and remained blindfolded, motionless on a couch, and listening to music for 300 hours. She was given liquids but took no solid food until Nuguet brought her out of the trance. She celebrated with a meal of tomatoes, chopped steak and bread. During her trance, Mrs. Cecchini said “IT took a trip to the craters of the moon.
