LAST WEEK I scooped the news that our town’s stellar star rocker, Bryan Adams, was No. 1 in the United Kingdom and Ireland. Joy Metcaife = JOY TELLS ALL The news today is that Bryan's new hit single, Everything I Do, i Do it For You! is holding fast at the very top of the music charts. . It’s outselling the No. 2 and No. 3 songs combined! The North Vancouver native is only the fourth Canadian to have a No. | single in Britain. First was Paul Anka with Diana in 1957. Second was West Van's Terry Jacks with Seasons in the Sun ir 1974, Third was J.J. Barry in 1976 with No Charge. Bryan has sold more than 200,000 copies of Everything i Do and has been certified silver for British sales. Sales soared again after he made a very special ap- pearance on the BBC-TV network on their highly-rated Top of the Pops show last Wednesday. The only thing that did not go swimmingly for the brush-cut ar- tist is that his long romance with Miss Vicky seems to have cooled. He has apparently put the affair on the back burner while he com- pletes his latest album, Wakin’ Up The Neighbors, which is slated for release in September.
