Fatal crash A 30-YEAR-old Burnaby man died Saturday following 2 car crash on the Upper Levels Highway Cut. Anthony Curtis Rebinson was a passenger in a car tray- elling east. A Port Mann RCMP spokesman said the vehicle was travelling at a high rate of speed when the driver fost contol and drove off the road. The vehicle flipped over in a itch. Robinson was thrown from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene, The driver suffered no serious injuries. The police investigation continues. Senior struck AN 81-YEAR-old North Vancouver maa was rushed to Lions Gate Hospital with serious injuries Dec. 15 after he was hit by a car. The incident occurred at about 6 p.m. in the 400-biock of East Third Street. The man suffered head and leg injuries. He was zitempt- ing to cross the strect at East Third Street and St. David's Avenue when he was struck by an eastbound vehicle. The North Vancouver RCMP investigation continues. Cars torched FIRE DAMAGED four vehicles in the 2800-block Eastern Avenue in North Vancouver Dec. 13. Police believe gasoline was poured on two vehicles around 3:20 a.m. Two other vehicles were ignited when fuei running along the curb spread the fire. The front half of one car was completely destroyed by the fire. The others received some scorching. Police are looking for suspects. THE BODY of a 61-year-old Burnaby man was recovered one kilometre east of the Second Narrows Bridge Dec. 12. The man abandoned his vehicle in the northbound lane of the bridge. A witness saw the man jump over the railing shortly before 4:25 a.m. Canadian Coast Guard vessel Osprey located tae body 90 minutes later. The dead man is identified as Richard Butcher. A35-YEAR-OLD woman was arrested Dec. 11 after an armed robbery at the Raven Inn Beer and Wine Store in Deep Cove. A was arrested after a woman entered the busi- ness and demanded money, She was armed with a knife. She fled the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash. A Raven employee followed her. North Vancouver RCMP eventually located the woman in the 900-block of Roche Point Drive. Charges were not laid to press time. Counterfeit bills WEST VANCOUVER Police are investigating two separate incidents in which fake $100 bills were used at West Vancouver businesses. The bogus cash appears to have been made with a laser photocopier. Shopkeepers «an identify the fakes: @ the color will be off; @ what appears to be raised lettering in the background of the bill does not properly reproduce from one side to the other; @ when held at an angle to the light, the laser copy will appear to be shiny. cc?
