HALLOWEEN HOOLIGANISM failed to amuse a Lynn
Valley man whose car was the target of a group of
teenagers, :

Erroll Cramer’s neighbor saw several teenagers
break the window of Cramer’s car and throw in a fire-
work which set fire to the 1984 Lada. The neighbor put
the blaze out. “It’s a proper mess with glass all over and
the seats burnt up,” said Cramer, who had parked the
car in front of his house on Baird Road. Their wanton
destruction “annoys the hell cut of me,” he said.

DEDICATION OF the 53.6 hectare (133.6 acre) Cypress
Ridge Old Growth Park is anticipated dt the Nov. 7
meeting of West Vancouver District Council.

In preparation for the passing of the necessary bylaw,
council introduced a bylaw Oct. 24 that will close up a
road into the park area. The read is located off Cypress
Bowl Road at the 690 m (2,300 ft.) elevation.

The land was previously destined to be developed as a
golf course.

Those plans came to a halt when people spoke out
against the destruction of stands of old-growth timber
that had semchow escaped earlier logging of the area.

A public referendum stopped the development and a
second referendum on Noy. 20, 1993, confirmed West
Vancouver’s desire to save the area for park use.

Since then, the municipality has been compiling sur-
yey data for the road closure to complete access agree-
ments with B.C. Parks and the Ministry of
Transportation and Highways.
