The Industry Tribute Award is given to an individual who has made an outstanding and invalu- able contribution to the design industry and professsion in B.C. and has supported and encouraged the growth and recognition of B.C. in the national and international fashdion industries. Previous winners have included fashion historian Ivan Sayers (1991), fashion editor and North Shore resident Kay Alsop (1992) and Jax designer Ron Leal (1993). McPhee, who first began gem carving in the mid-’70s, complet- ed one of the world’s largest- known fine emerald carvings in 1992 on a magnificent stone with a final weight of 1,550 carats.
