OVER THE GARDEN GATE

LAST WEEK I mentioned
some of the factors to be
considered when con-
templating the instailation
of a rock garden.

to attend the B.C. Alpine Club’s
Spring Show at VanDusen
Botanical Garden, you are proba-
bly now eager to start your own:
rock pile as soon as possible.

These words of warning are not
meant for you hardy gardeners
who enjoy puttering in ‘he beds.

But those of you who believe
that the most important feature of
a good garden should be its low

suited to a shrub garden well en-
dowed with groundcovers, or,
God forbid, bark mulch.

The secret to maintaining a
healthy rock garden with the min-
imum amount of effort is simply
paying attention to it.
