In keeping with the philosophy of Waldorf education, proceeds from this event will go not only to the school, but to a Third World Waldorf School in Mexico. A door prize of a trip for two to Los Cabos, Mexico, is only the beginning of what will be an ‘‘ex- traordinary’’ auction, say orga- nizers. Over 200 items will be up for bids including an Ecosummer Ex- peditions week-long alpine heli- hiking adventure, a whale wat- ching trip, a weekend at Sooke Harbour House and a week-long seaside family vacation. Also on the block will be lessons in scuba diving, sailing, piano, French, art and computers, and a oackyard barbecue catered by PJ’s All Star Cafe, as well as an in- home champagne brunch with live music. In addition, food and dancing to the sounds of a Ceili band will be offered. Tickets are $20 each, which in- cludes entry into the trip draw. The Vancouver Waldorf School is an independent co-educational school which was established 18 years ago in North Vancouver. It is one of 560 schools worldwide. The first Waldorf School was founded in Stuttgart in 1919 on the principles set out by Dr. Rudolf Steiner, an Austrian philosopher and educator. According to Steiner, Waldorf education’s main goal is to ‘‘develop free individuals who are able out of their own ini- tiative to impart purpose and di- rection to their lives.’’ For further information regard- ing the auction call 985-7435. , Get ready for this 7 summer's driving at great savings. | ‘Strato-Flite’ all- season steel belted radial tires i feature wide tread design for 7 improved handling Sturdy four-leg design for 1 stability.
