I have a theory about bulk buy-
ing. There seems to be a product
rotation every four to five weeks.
If you buy enough of any one
product to fast your family that
length of time you'll probably find
it on at safe prices just as you're
about to run out.

Two stores, Stong's and
Safeway, are featuring corned beef
this week. Unfortunately, too
many people toss the beef into a
pot of water, boil the bejesus out
of it and wonder why it’s tough
and tasteless.

Next time, try setting in a
roaster with a tight-fitting lid. Add
about two inches of water, all the
spices you can scrape off the
wrapping and set the covered pan
in a hot oven (400°F) for about a
half an hour.

Then, turn the oven to low, 200
to 225°F, for five or six hours. If
you wish to serve the meat sliced
cold for sandwiches it wil! slice
thinner if you chill it, well wrap-
ped, with a heavy weight on top.

tional Hungarian recipe is a pleas-

Hungarian Chicken Puprita

1 frozen bag chicken parts
(thighs, legs or breasts),
about 3 Ib.

2 large onions (about f tb.)
finely chopped

\Y cup butter

1 garlic clove, minced

1 tablespoon sweet, red paprika
salt and cracked pepper (o taste
about | cup chicken stock
(tess or legs or thighs)

1 small carton sour cream

3 green onions, sliced

In a large, deep fry-pan with lid,
cook the onions and garlic until
very soft. Add chicken parts and
