News - Wednesday, Apiil re Flames stay put for next year THE NORTH Shore Flames will be playing their Pacific International Hockey League games at the North Shore Winter Club (NSWC) next season, according to NSWC board member and director of ice facilities Doreen Tadey. By Kevin Gillies Contributing Writer There had .been some specula- tion that the team may move away from the North Shore because the Flames had received a letter at the beginning of the season from the NSWC stating that the ice may not be available after season’s end. Flames vice-president Ron Bur- rows said the team was trying to work the scheduling problem out with the NSWC, but if they didn’t start negotiating with other cities, the team could risk folding. The problem started, Tadey said, when demand for ice time from NSWC members forced the board to review its hockey pro- gram.
