BASEBALL ROUNDUP Blacktops take third Babe Ruth win In last week’s Babe Ruth prep division, B.C. Blacktop stretched their streak with three wins. They caught Midas Muffler twice, once with Brian Bergot pitching, 21-11, Ethan Thompson earned a homerun, and again at Inter-River on Tuesday when Rob Bouchette pitched a squeaker, 9-8 with Sean McConville hitting a triple for B.A. Blacktop. On Saturday, B.A. Blacktop tromped the Eagles 15-2 with Warren Cannon pitching. Drew Wilson pitched a couple of wins for Moodyville Lions, one over Legion 16-8 and the other over the Eagles, 7-5. Scott Knight collected a triple for the Eagles. Legion lost to the Eagles 13-5 with Jeff Dawson pitching and turned around and beat Moodyville Lions 13-8 pitched by Terry Jones. Midas Muffler picked up two points when downing Legion 14-8, Neil MecEachern pitching. Riley, D’Auria, Sherret and Midas con- nected for doubles. Action in the Junior Division suffered from the rain with only three games played in the week. Dillingham won out over N.S. Credit Union on Sunday and John Trieu pitched Firemen to a 6-3 win over Credit Union on Tuesday. Dillingham earned another win this week defeating M.G. Builders 7-2. Jeff Frumento pitched and Ross Myles smashed a home run. Opening game saw Super Valu’s Chuck Law toss a four hitter en route to a 40 shutout over Coquitlam. Law struck out seven and chipped in at the plate with 2 RBI's. Ralph Bratsberg, Mike Crawiord and Ian Mathiason all had strong games at the plate, knocking in the other two runs.
