set up a new level of
administration at the
institgtion.

While the board remains

committed to the
establishment of a “mid-
Management structure,”

they have agreed to consult
with the faculty on the form

this will take.

The decision by the board
came after a board meeting
Tuesday night at which close
to 80 faculty gathered for the
presentation of a brief in
Opposition to the proposed
system of administrative
directors.

During the summer, plans
had been made to hire 10
directors, with two to be
appointed almost at once,
and six to cight more to be
appointed by January.

“Never in the college's
history has the faculty ap-
